Getting Things Done is a very nice approach to time and task management, because it is easily adaptable to your own liking. There’s no specific tooling, although a number of tools are availabe, but you could also use pen and paper. I like the ThinkingRock Software which has just been released in a new version:

I seems that all “members only” functionality is now available in the free version. Can’t wait to get my hands on it and try it out.
